Pastel Disney Princess Party Inspiration

Every child's birthday is a special occasion, but when it comes to my daughter, it's a chance to make her dreams come true. I wanted to give her a birthday party that would transport her to a world of enchantment and make her feel like the true princess she is. We opted to throw an intimate celebration at home with her favorite people and closest girl cousins and although we were short on space, the day was perfect and everyone had an exceptional time. Join me as I take you through the journey of planning and throwing a magical celebration that will forever hold a place in my daughter's heart.

INVITATIONS FIT FOR ROYALTY
The invitation cards played a pivotal role in setting the tone for the party. I designed personalized invitations featuring images of her favorite Disney Princesses, adorned with glitter and pastel colors. Since the guest list was small, I opted to send the invites via text which worked perfectly because I could also explain any other details that didn't fit on the invitations.

TRANSFORMING THE VENUE
Our living room was soon to be transformed into a beautiful princess fairytale. I ordered most of the decorations on Amazon which was extremely convenient considering this celebration was a bit last minute. I also headed to our local Party City which had SO many beautiful decorations and balloons that fit perfectly with our theme. The absolute hit of the party though, was this balloon garland I purchased on Amazon.  Everyone couldn't believe it wasn't done by a professional and it was truly the centerpiece of the room. One last detail I would like to mention that I feel truly took the décor from a 6 to a 10 was fresh flowers! I went to our local Vons that morning and purchased beautiful hydrangeas and floral bouquets that matched the color scheme of the party and wow did it transform the room. This is an inexpensive way to make a party pop.

DRESSING THE PART
Of course, my daughter deserved to look and feel like a real princess on her special day. We carefully selected a beautiful ball gown inspired by one of her many favorite Disney Princesses, Belle. Since she had been to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique earlier in the year, I used the hair products and makeup kit we still had to give her a royal makeover.

ENTERTAINING ACTIVITIES
To ensure that the little princesses had a royally good time, I purchased a few activities but they also enjoyed just playing with the toys my daughter already had.
  • Royal Arts and Crafts: I purchased these DIY crown kits that included headband crowns, sticker gems and jewels so the girls could decorate their very own crowns. I also purchased mini canvas prints that had various princesses on them and mini easels and watercolor paints for each kid to paint with. It was a hit!
  • Princess Play Time At The Park: Since we have a playground in our neighborhood, near the end of the party we walked the princesses over and let them run wild. It was the perfect end to a perfect day (and also a great way to get that last bit of energy out after cake!)
  • Jump-O-Lene: Since we are limited on space, we blew up my daughters Jump-O-Lene she received as a Christmas gift previously and used this in lieu of a bounce house. I filled it with extra balloons we had last minute but if I were to do it again I would definitely have purchased some ball pit balls to throw in there instead!
  • Old Toys Made New: As mentioned previously, the girls really just had fun playing with all of my daughters toys. This is a great way to keep kids entertained if throwing a birthday party at home. For some reason, kids are way more inclined to play with toys that aren't there's and I even caught my daughter taking interest in toys that she hasn't played with in months, all because she had other kids to enjoy them with.

A FEAST FOR THE PRINCESSES
Since there was only a handful of people invited, we opted to keep it simple and ordered pizza and salad. This was plenty for our crowd and made for easy cleanup. For dessert, my daughter insisted on a pink and chocolate princess cake so I ordered a small 8 inch round from a local baker and ordered these princess toppers off Etsy. I also ordered a dozen "bundtinins" from Nothing Bundt Cakes in case the guests weren't feeling chocolate.

MEMENTOS TO TREASURE
Each little princess received a favor bucket filled with Disney Princess-themed goodies, such as stickers, coloring books, nail polish, necklaces, and more. Additionally, we bought little tutus and tiaras for the little princesses to wear during the party and take home as part of their party favor.

As the Disney Princess Birthday Party came to a close, the joy and excitement in my daughter's eyes were undeniable. It was a celebration of love, imagination, and magic – a day when she truly felt like a princess. Witnessing her happiness and the smiles on her cousins' faces made all the effort and planning worthwhile. A child's birthday party is more than just a gathering; it's an opportunity to make a child's dreams come true and create cherished memories that will be cherished by the entire family for years to come. As I watched her blow out the candles on her cake, I knew that this enchanting celebration would forever hold a special place in her heart, just like she holds a special place in mine.
